Mark worked with the Brontë Society on a visioning and team development weekend with our Trustees and Senior Leadership Team. We’re at a particularly exciting time, celebrating a five year festival of the bicentenaries of the Brontë family, and want to embed some real organisational cultural change in order to maximise the opportunities the bicentenaries present. Historically, we haven’t been good at staff/Board relationships. Mark brilliantly fostered an atmosphere of collegiate working, respect, trust, understanding of roles, and confidence in the future and we finished the weekend with some clear objectives to take us forward and a new-found sense of joint purpose. And it was all so apparently seamless. As our chair (a film-maker) observed: “One of the marks of a great movie is that the hand of the director is largely invisible”. I’m looking forward to other opportunities to use Mark’s outstanding skills in the near future.
